Travelling with a Hobby Drone

Post by faddy »

Hello,

Travelling to Pakistan and will be visiting the northern regions. As such I want to bring my DJI drone to take some pics of the family and the surroundings..

Are there any restrictions for bringing in the drone into Pakistan?

Anything I need to be aware off.

No such a restriction, if your drone is using general commercial frequencies.

Just do not try to use the drone on airports and other corporate areas.

Salaam, does PIA allow drones to be carried onto the plane or in checked in baggage from the uk to pakistan. Obviously the battery will have to be carried in hand luggage. I did email pia been a few weeks no reply.

Hello,

Since last posting theres been a blanket ban for using drones across the punjab.

No point risking it.. theres a Youtube video of the Pakistani blogger LordAleem who got his DJi confiscated at Islamabad airport.

Whilst people still use it, I just dont think its worth the the risk taking it.

The product itself is banned for import. If caught it will be confiscated.

A simple drone without cam is legit so you can detach the cam and then bring it. Otherwise no one will believe you if it's a hobby drone.
