After implementing this, there should be regular price control check. Rs200 is too much for 1 baggage and what do we get for 200? Just 2-3 rounds of wrapping paper? It should be done properly.

Wrapping, anywhere in the world in just an option for a passenger .
It is never a mandatory. It looks like every step is being taken to get as much money through any means possible from overseas Pakistanis as always.

Another long line on airports
Another way of earning for airports
Another form of promoting plastic utilization

Can’t CAA come up with better plan from its own pocket? Instead earning from duel side on this plastic shit CAA should improve its in-camera operations.

* Pakistan CAA is working to provide all possible facilities to passengers.

* A number of airports have only one baggage wrapping machine. Rush of passengers is observed at single baggage wrapping machine facility.

* Decision to increase the number of baggage wrapping machines has been made for the convenience of passengers.

* Tender notice has been published in newspapers for the installation of more baggage wrapping machines at major airports.

* Baggage wrapping has been made mandatory for the safety/security of passengers' baggage pieces.

CAA to install baggage wrapping machines at airports

June 20, 2019

RAWALPINDI:
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has decided to install baggage wrapping machines at major airports of the country, apparently to protect luggage from being damaged.

A senior official of CAA told DAWN that baggage wrapping machines will be installed at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Faisalabad International Airport, Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, Sukkur Airport, Multan International Airport and Quetta International Airport.

At Islamabad International Airport, baggage wrapping machine had already been installed at the international departure lounge’s briefing area.

The wrapping machines are expected to be installed at seven airports across the country within one month.

A senior security official told DAWN that baggage wrapping did not make any difference with the security but it ensured safety of the suitcases or other luggage which are damaged during loading and unloading.

He further said the wrapped suitcase made difficult for baggage handler to riffle through it.

However, the security officials can open wrapped bag, whenever is required.

He said wrapping of travelers’ luggage also ensured that it was protected from rough handling and thefts of valuables by riffling through.

Remembering a joke when a King wanted to see, how much his nation is sensible so he introduced that everyone who will cross a city bridge will have to receive a kick and appointed a kick-man there.
Later after few days few people sent a message to meet the King for a complaint; King was excited to meet since he realized there are quite a few sensible people who will complain that getting kicked is wrong.
However; when they people approached they said: King we honour your decision but would like you to increase the number of kick-man on the bridge because it forms a long queue with one kick-man while crossing the bridge.

So exactly we people are; they are expanding machines not primarily for our convenience but also we all knows. In the end we will feel lucky to have multiple machines and ending up paying 200 p/luggage OR 500p/luggage through touts. A lot of people will earn from this activity and probably another way to create jobs lol. Where are the transparency & judicial authorities to correct their direction?

What else could be expected from inept CAA ?

Instead of ramping up security, these people wants every passenger to plastic wrap the luggage so that they will be getting easy money .

How difficult for thieves to cut plastic and carry on task?

Also, most of international passengers usually don't have exact change or have local currency and will be ending up paying exorbitant amount.

In addition to Qouta system hired Thugs in Various Sarkaari Departments. Pests in CAA finally decided to increase their Loot and Plunder by not Catching thieves instead imposing another way to fleece passenger. CAA should change its name to Beggar Authority.
