RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-701 had to abort take-off for Manchester from Islamabad International Airport at 11:15am due to a British passenger’s medical emergency.
According to sources, after Ms Riaz Akhtar’s, the British national, request, the pilot contacted the traffic control and sought permission to abort take off. He informed the tower that a passenger was not feeling well and had refused to continue her journey.
The pilot after getting clearance from air traffic control brought back the plane to apron to off-load the passenger.
Spokesman for PIA Mashood Tajwar told Dawn that later the flight took off for Manchester at about 12.30 pm.
