There are already videos circulating on social media where one can see PIA counter staff in ISB can be seen collecting RS 400 in the name of "Rounding up" despite being challenged by a passenger.

If the charge is Rs.368 than they should be giving change and a receipt - there is no such thing as Rounding in terms of Taxes - this would indicate a Scam and thus non-legitimate charges.

A few years ago, one would have to Pay 500TB (Thai Baht) if passing through BKK, but receipts were given. It has since been abolished and included in the ticket-price.

This is baseless - my dad just flew out of LHE on EK Saturday - no additional charges were levied. I think this is a case of PK & CAA trying to scalp money from unsuspecting travellers

PIA seems to "collect" taxes all the time. They had demanded RS 450 in new Tax (for two adults and three kids). When I challenged that woman, I was told that it was a new tax but she can't remember its exact name. She was reluctant to issue a receipt which I demanded. I refused to leave without a receipt. She asked her senior to issue the receipt but then wanted to keep it for "her records", needless to say, that she did not get to keep the original.
Our people deliberately create ways for corruption and the bone is passed all the way up to big dogs.
I only wish that our society was at least as transparent as these western countries with proper check and balances.

Rs.120 is very minor when compared to FX. Thus, I think only PK based airlines would collect it at check-in and the other airlines would simply wear it as it is less than $1USD (0.87c); approx $1.20 AUD/CAD; 0.68p GBP & 0.75c EUR.
