Saudi Jet Fuel Supplier Bakri Warns Shaheen Air to Clear Dues or Face Consequences

The Bakri Oils Company of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has warned the management of Shaheen Air International to clear its dues before November 27, 2018, amounting to millions of dollars, or the legal proceedings would be finalised against them.

Informed sources disclosed to ‘National Courier’ that a court in KSA has set a final date and deadline of 27 November 2018 ordering if Shaheen Air didn’t present agreement with Bakri or make payment by this date, the legal action against them would include stopping Shaheen Air business activities in Saudi Arabia. Confiscation of any aircraft of Shaheen Air arriving in Saudi Arabia; Blocking of Aqama of responsible persons of Shaheen Air by Interior Ministry and prevention of their travel from Saudi Arabia as per Saudi Government rules and regulation.

Khalid Farid Lodhi, Country Manager of Shaheen Air in KSA, requesting his bosses including Chairman and CEO in a letter dated 21 October 2018, have requested for taking immediate actions for further averting situation from getting worse. He referred the above self-explanatory e-mail of ASAS on the outcome of court case of Bakri as the main points having serious repercussions.

As per Shaheen Air employees, the new COO has announced that money injections will start from 30 October till 25 November, 2018. CAA and FBR will be on priority…. then one month current salary will be issued as Rs 25 billion have been nominated for Project Shaheeb.

However, the ground realities are telling entirely different story. According to station manager in KSA, he has no money to spend, his offices are vacated, his passport is confiscated by local Kafeel and he is completely helpless. The sources disclosed that even in Pakistan, even power to the SAI head office is disconnected due to unpaid dues of millions of. Recently, the internet facility was also removed due to non-payment of Rs 10 million.

On the other hand Malik Rashid and Sadaat, the two front-men of the owners are busy in fleecing the airline’s employees who are awaiting for their salaries since last four months. The owners’ both representative are actually eyeing to grab the provident funds of the employees that is estimated at about Rs1.4 billion. The other major target is to collect the tickets amount from the airline’s travelling agents, which could be in millions of rupees, the sources added.
