According to news sources, today Saudia flight SV-701 to Jeddah departed from Karachi without fifty Hajj pilgrims. The pilgrims in Ihram complained that the airline has not arranged meals for them and also did not give information about alternate flight arrangements. They said that pilgrims under government scheme were given preference over pilgrims traveling under private scheme.

Today, Saudia Boeing 777-200ER (HZ-AKS) departed from Karachi at 2:27 PM as flight SV-701 to Jeddah. The flight's scheduled departure time was 2:00 PM.

Probably the flight was overbooked or Boeing 777-200ER was deployed instead of Boeing 777-300ER by the airline.
