A ground support vehicle struck engine number 1 of a PIA Airbus A320 at Karachi Airport.

AP-BLC had arrived in Karachi on June 28 at 11:50 PM as flight PK-307 from Lahore.

The A320 is scheduled to depart from Karachi today at 3:00 PM as flight PK-304 to Lahore.

According to latest reports:

The A320 was getting ready to perform Karachi to Lahore flight when it was struck by vehicle. Apparently it confirms the aircraft as AP-BLC that was scheduled to perform Karachi to Lahore flight PK-304.

Passengers have been shifted to lounge at Karachi Airport.

CEO PIA has ordered investigation of the incident.

The damage suffered by the aircraft is minor.

though such incidents do happen, yet there frequency on pakistani airports is getting alarmingly high.

According to news report on following link, the incident happened due to negligence of vehicle driver. The incident happened when the A320 was getting ready to perform flight PK-302 from Karachi to Lahore. The flight's scheduled departure time was 8:00 AM.

After the collision, passengers were off-loaded and shifted to airport lounge and the aircraft was moved to a maintenance hangar for inspections/repairs.

PIA Airbus A320 registration AP-BLT as alternate aircraft departed from Karachi at 1:55 PM as flight PK-302 to Lahore with a delay of nearly five hours. PK-302 landed in Lahore at 3:23 PM. The flight's scheduled arrival time in Lahore was 9:45 AM.

Maybe these incidents are done on purpose, to harm PIA's already damaged reputation (late flights, bad service etc)
