Japan to Provide Security Equipment for Pakistani Airports
Today, provision of security equipment by Japan for airports in Pakistan came under discussion during meeting in Islamabad between Japan's Ambassador to Pakistan Takashi Kurai and Pakistan's Minister of State for Finance & Economic Affairs Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan.
Maybe Japan to gift/donate security equipment for airports of Peshawar, Quetta and Faisalabad that will get their upgraded & expanded terminal buildings inaugurated this year.
In the past, Japan has provided security equipment including scanners for various airports of Pakistan.

At Karachi airport the "car scanner" for whatever it was for, and still has the sticker, "From People of Japan" is surely non functional and according to Airport's Metro Cab drivers it only worked for a short time. They still use the device like an upside down "L" word on which it has been commented many times that it is useless. Installing instruments is one thing from a donor country but surely the responsibility of keeping it functional or maintaining it has to be on the shoulders of host country.
