ASF at Karachi Airport Arrest Passenger Trying to Board Thai Airways Flight With Arms & Ammunition
On December 22, Airports Security Force (ASF) at Karachi Airport arrested a Malaysian national attempting to board Bangkok-bound Thai Airways flight TG-342 with arms and ammunition. The passenger had concealed bullets, pistols and magazines in a microwave oven.
Bullets were also recovered from the shoes he was wearing.
Security agencies have also obtained list of passengers who were travelling aboard flight TG-342 for investigation.
Thai Airways Airbus A330-300 registration HS-TET departed from Karachi with a delay of more than an hour at 12:54 AM on December 23. The flight's scheduled departure time was 11:35 PM on December 22.

According to briefing at ASF headquarters in Karachi today, nine colleagues of the arrested passenger were able to board the Bangkok-bound aircraft and depart from Karachi. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is checking data of those individuals.

ASF officials in media briefing told that:
Arms/ammunition were recovered from the passenger in first stage of the screening process.
Other passengers and baggage/cargo pieces were screened again before flight's departure.
