Birth on board pro forma/document issued by PIA
The baby girl named Jannat by PIA cabin crew came into the world when Medina to Multan flight PK-716 was in Iranian air space, according to birth certificate issued at Karachi. The flight landed at Karachi due to foggy weather/poor visibility in Multan.
Baby Jannat with her parents and grandmother arrived at Multan Airport at 1:43 PM aboard PIA special flight PK-8330 with PK-716 passengers from Karachi. The special flight PK-8330 performed by wet leased VietJet Air Airbus A320 (VN-A666) had departed from Karachi at 12:36 PM. The baby and mother had received medical care in Karachi.

The family had gone to Saudi Arabia about seventeen days ago to perform Umrah.
The new-born baby has been awarded a lifetime of free flights on PIA, according to news sources.

Mashhood Tajwar, the PIA’s spokesperson, told DAWN that usually women 28 weeks pregnant were not allowed to travel by air, but permission was given in special cases on production of a medical certificate.
“The airline staff is unaware about pregnancy at the time passengers check in or board a plane as most women are covered in shawls or chadors,” he said, adding that all cabin crew members were fully trained to handle such emergencies.
