According to following news report, authorities are investigating delay in emergency medical services to a passenger at Lahore Airport around 5:00 PM on December 8, 2017 (Friday).
Counter staff at the airport noticed the eighty-year old wheelchair-bound passenger feeling unwell and called Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for medical assistance. In the absence of duty doctor, a paramedic arrived twenty minutes later to check the passenger and recommended shifting him to a hospital by ambulance. The process took another thirty minutes to shift passenger to an ambulance. Unfortunately, the passenger died in ambulance on the way to hospital.
The doctor at the airport has been reported absent from duty on previous occasions also.
According to CAA spokesperson, the patient was semi-conscious when he entered airport lounge and an investigation has been started.
