PIA Fleet... 777 on Booking Website

Post by Boomin Bomber IJ » Fri Nov 24, 2017 4:24 pm

Hi,

I was selecting a flight to book for KHI-ISB, and got confused in aircraft selection. Hope somebody can advise me what version are they referring to by 777.

I know 772 represents 777-200 and 773 is used for 777-300 (whatever the variations therein.) My confusion is that on some flights, the aircraft is shown to be 777 - What aircraft am I expected to travel on, as it is not 772 or 773.

Thanks.

I think it means the aircraft can be any variant of Boeing 777 in PIA fleet.

Thank you Abbas. Yes, I think so too. Just minutes ago I searched for IATA aircraft codes, and 777 is used to denote all pax versions of 777

I've noticed that the 777 on a PIA website almost always indicates a 777-200LR.
Every time I've checked reservations on a certain flight that displays 777, it turns out to be a 77LR, and flightradar24 confirms this.

Wherever 777 is indicated it refers to 777LR. PIA has two A/c of this type which are operated on non-stop Toronto bound flights.
