PIA is on course to match 2016 net loss of Rs 45 bn in year 2017 too, unless radical measures to avert the loss are taken, like shutting off all loss making routes.

Any route flown twice a week cannot get the loads when the competition is flying those routes daily or even double daily.

If you shut off most major routes then where will PIA fly and how will PIA pay for 19000 peoples salary.

The job is not to shut down loss making routes but think of a way to make the loss making routes profitable.

If a plane flying to London is carrying 200 passengers in off season to London, is it not worth it to make a stopover in Rome and carry a 100 passengers for Rome on the same flight.

Maybe PIA needs a long range 200 seat fuel efficient aircraft.

Any longer range A321s?????
