Turkish Airlines Sacks Pakistan General Manager Over Mega Corruption

Post by Abbas Ali »

ISLAMABAD – Turkish Airlines has terminated the services of its General Manager-Pakistan Yunus Mert over mega corruption, said sources close to Turkish Airlines employers’ association on condition of anonymity on Sunday.

Instead of going back to Turkey, the sacked GM has now reportedly fled to Vienna via Qatar to escape legal proceedings against him in the home country.

The sources added that the GM was fired on the charges of fraud and embezzlement during construction of the airline’s new office in Islamabad.

He was also found to be illegally selling off complimentary tickets to other people at exorbitant prices, the sources added.

He was also said to be involved in corruption in the activities related to procurement.

The fugitive GM managed to flee the country furtively via Qatar Airways, ensuring his safe escape.

Corruption is almost everywhere though the main concern is how you tackle and eliminate the corruption; unfortunately in Pakistan corruption flourish rather then get eliminated, 'khud be khao, humein bhe khanay do' policy is adopted

lets see how Turkish administration tackle with this :-k
