PIA Ends Premier Service

Post by Abbas Ali »

According to Neo News, PIA has ended Premier service that was launched between London and Pakistani cities of Islamabad and Lahore in August last year with an Airbus A330-300 wet leased from SriLankan Airlines. The airline also spent significant amount money for provision of limousine service in London for Business Class passengers of the service.

The loss-making service was stopped in February this year and the wet leased A330 was returned to SriLankan Airlines.

I think the news report means to say that PIA has ended Premier service permanently and is not going to resume it in future.

It was the idea of PM, without reading much into it, PIA implemented it. As long as PM would have care, PIA continued it. Now that PM is busy in other issues, it is a good time to scrap this loss making project.

Aviation is already at a good level of comfort, even with normal service. People, not just Pakistanis care about fares and availability. They wont care what food you serve and what IFE you provide.
