PAF Celebrating Fifty Years of Mirage Service

According to PTV News, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is celebrating 50 years (1967-2017) of Mirage service.

Currently a large number of Mirage III supersonic fighter bomber aircraft and Mirage V supersonic attack aircraft are in service with PAF.

PAF's first batch of Mirage III aircraft arrived in Pakistan in 1968. Mirage IIIs saw heavy combat in 1971 war with India. Not a single Mirage was lost in 1971 war combat operations.

PAF's first batch of Mirage V aircraft arrived in Pakistan in 1973.

During March 23, 2017, Pakistan Day flypast over the parade venue in Islamabad, seven Mirage aircraft representing all PAF squadrons operating the aircraft type took part in the flypast.

Three Mirage V attack aircraft performed bomb burst maneuver over the parade venue to celebrate fifty years of Mirage service with PAF.

Formation of four aircraft was followed by formation of three aircraft.

Very nice PAF 2018 desk calendar celebrating fifty years of Mirage service with fantastic photos of the aircraft.

Some old photos of PAF Mirages from 1960s to 1990s should also have been included in this calendar in my opinion.

I wonder how our Mirage series compares to the current F16 and JF17 blocks. Any thoughts on differences in performance characteristics?

Same as corolla 74 compared to Civic 2017. This was on the lighter side.
Mirage III and V was a very capable aircraft of its time. Developed in 60s it is obviously no match to current technology where advance avionics, FBW control and latest weapon system give F-16 and (to some extent JF17) a definite advantage.
Though PAF has performed a number of upgrades to the original aircraft most notable Project ROSE, yet the aircraft is at the twilight of its operational service. Has served well for the PAF but as for everything else in life, old age is showing up.
