PIA Boeing 777 to Perform VIP Flight to Kuwait?

Today, PIA Boeing 777-240ER registration AP-BGL arrived in Islamabad apparently as ferry flight PK-9370 from Karachi.

Earlier, on March 4, AP-BGL had arrived in Karachi at 8:56 AM as PIA commercial flight PK-373 from Islamabad.

On March 6, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Kuwait for two-day official visit. Maybe AP-BGL ferried to Islamabad to perform VIP flight PK-2 (Pakistan Two) to Kuwait?

PIA prepare the aircraft for VIP flight with special configuration which include installation/arrangement of seats, dining tables, meeting areas etc. as required by PM office.

Why not take an A320 to Kuwait, how large is the delegation that they need a 300 seat 777???

I guess its the price PIA has to pay for being a government owned company, plus the 36 billion a year it gets in government loan guarantees.

Some outcome of this tour finally. Kuwait lifts ban on visas to Pakistanis. I think it was coming that is why Kuwait air was increasing frequencies to Pakistan.

It was not well timed. Generally these things and understanding happen prior to the visit and official visit is just confirmation of what have been decided at various levels.

So, good news for many families residing in Kuwait that inhumane visa restrictions are lifted. Good for them. Also, welcome move to start 4X weekly flights to Karachi by KU.

AP-BGL resumed performing PIA commercial flights when it departed from Karachi today at 12:46 PM as flight PK-787 to London.

Earlier, the B777 had arrived in Karachi on March 7 at 11:41 PM as ferry flight PK-9319 from Islamabad where it had arrived at 8:42 PM as VIP flight PK-2 from Kuwait.

^ as per PIA schedule, PIA787 originate from Lahore to London via Karachi; does it mean the passengers of PIA787 from Lahore to London were accommodated on other flights to Karachi or another aircraft operated PIA787 Lahore-Karachi sector and later transferred the pax to London bound BGL?
