Officers on Deputation to PIA Advised to Leave the Airline by February 22

According to Urdu daily 'Waqt', as a cost saving measure, PIA Board of Directors meeting held on January 23 decided to return officers who are on deputation to the airline. In this regard officers from other organisations on deputation to PIA have been advised to leave the charge of their offices by February 22.

Officers affected by this decision include:

General Manager Public Relations Danyal Gilani on deputation to PIA from Press Information Department (PID).

General Manager Security Najam Arif on deputation to PIA from Intelligence Bureau (IB).

Director Procurement & Logistics Air Commodore Imran Akhtar on deputation to PIA from Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

General Manager Group Captain Abrar on deputation to PIA from Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Wing Commander Javed Soomro on deputation to PIA from Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Wing Commander Amir Qureshi on deputation to PIA from Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

The officers on deputation to PIA are burden on financial resources of the airline and will be replaced by individuals from airline's own workforce.

* Services of PIA General Manager Public Relations Danyal Gilani returned to his original department i.e. Press Information Department (PID).



* Danyal Gilani will leave his charge at PIA and report to PID.



* Services of PIA General Manager Public Relations Danyal Gilani have been returned to PID.

I am sure they won't be able to find a good replacement for this guy. He did exceptionally good during his one year deputation.
