PIA was the forth organization to take this maintenance approval. It was temporarily revoked about four years ago.

Re: PIA Officially Surrendered EASA-145 Approval
Interestingly in a recent PIA bidding document word "suspended" is used for EASA 145 approval. The airline is seeking services of a technical consultant for tasks including "to carry out gap analysis in order to regain suspended EASA 145 approval".

Re: PIA Officially Surrendered EASA Part-145 Approval
Regaining EASA Part-145 approval for PIA E&M is not an easy task and it is getting more hard as aviation regulations changing with high frequency.
Maybe PIA management want to take more time to restructure maintenance capabilities and temporarily surrendered this approval to save it's annual fee. If so, it's too late step.
