Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is set to increase its direct Sialkot service from two to four weekly flights starting from 1st December 2016 to meet high passenger demand.

Commenting on the upcoming increase, Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Ahmed Janahi said: “We are always looking to satisfy the high demand to and from Pakistan and cater to passenger needs across the Gulf Air network. Gulf Air’s increased Sialkot frequency will enhance the existing Gulf Air service to one of our national carrier’s seven destinations in Pakistan. With additional flights between Bahrain and Sialkot we are offering enhanced schedule flexibility for our valued travelers while also creating improved connections for those passengers travelling to and from Gulf Air’s network of onwards destinations across the globe.”

Catering to over 3.5 million Pakistani nationals residing in the Gulf region, Gulf Air has provided direct air services between Pakistan and Bahrain since 1960. Last year Bahrain’s national carrier introduced direct services to the cities of Multan and Faisalabad in Pakistan taking the airline’s total Pakistan destinations up to seven cities: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad. With one of the largest Middle East networks, Bahrain’s national carrier is well positioned to link regional travelers to Sialkot while allowing seamless movement from the Pakistani city to several key regional and European destinations with excellent connectivity via Bahrain International Airport.

The additional Sialkot flights will take effect from 1st December 2016 and flights can be booked online at http://www.gulfair.com, by calling the airline’s 24 hour Worldwide Contact Centre on (+973) 17373737, or through any Gulf Air sales offices and approved travel agencies.

The reason PIA cannot compete in cases like this, because PIA customers 99% final destination is bahrain.

Whereas gulf air will have (just throwing numbers) 50% transfers and 50% final stays. So even if PIA was 5 star airline, many will choose more frequent service.

So in this case passengers win for more flights/variety :)
