Shaheen Air Starts Returning Airbus A330-300 Aircraft to Lessor

Today, Shaheen Air Airbus A330-301 (AP-BKM) was ferried from Karachi to Dublin as ferry flight NL-4 to end aircraft's lease term. The 1994-built A330 was acquired on dry lease from ILFC/AerCap and was delivered to Shaheen Air in July 2012.

While most airlines are preferring A333 over A332 nowadays.

Probably airframe age is a reason.

AP-BKM was more than 22 years old and as far as I know Pakistani passenger airlines have to phase out more than 20 years old aircraft from their fleet within a time frame under Pakistan's National Aviation Policy.

Sistership AP-BKL busy performing Shaheen Air flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia including post-Hajj flights these days.

Probably AP-BKL to be returned to leasing company after the end of post-Hajj flights.

AP-BKM will be flown from Dublin to Orlando Sanford International Airport, USA, where she'll be broken up & scrapped.

Aircraft condition doesn't seem to be so bad that it needs to be sent straight to the scrapyard. Infact to me it looks to be in better condition than PIA's A310.

Looking from outside is some thing else. We need to see how many TSC, TST, TSO, CSO have been accumulated on these frames. If TSC and TST values are exhausted Aircraft needs to be scrapped.
