You want competition. Fine. Please tell me if Pakistan allows Emirates to operate domestically what does UAE has to offer in return? Nothing. They will invest initially and get more than double the amount in profits and viz-a-viz giving very hard blow to Pakistani airlines, most of which may even go bankrupt, thus generating more connecting passengers for ME3 and Pakistani aviation sector totally in foreign hands like everything else.

UAE doesn't need to offer anything in return. Pakistan is getting FDI just like the huge investment in Telecom sector back in mid 2000's. How many telecom companies actually went bust? competition resulted in better product, more choice and over all better job prospects for everyone. It is not government's job to run an airline. Again why PIA gets state subsidy while Air blue and Shaheen don't. Is it a fair for Shaheen and Air blue.

On a side note, domestic airline will fly domestically. Emirates already have plenty of international flights to Pakistan. So the point of acting as a feeder for ME3 is moot. Again, no one has actually provided a valid argument why Emirates or any other foreign entity should not be allowed to enter the aviation sector.

On a further side note, Emirates has clarified that they are not starting a domestic operation in Pakistan so the whole debate is a bit pointless.

So far all arguments of not allowing Emirates operate domestic flights just revolve around sentiments and emotions.

But in return Pakistan should ask some thing concrete from them as well.

For example: Fifth freedom right for PIA to and from Dubai to Own wards.

Mind that operating locally in any country is Sixth freedom, which is more lilient than fifth freedom
So PIA will be able to operate One Daily flight from LHE-DXB, ISB-DXB and KHI-DXB and all three should have pretty close arrival time in DXB and one flight will continue to JFK.

This approach will help funnel all Pakistani pax from three big cities to gather first in DXB and have non stop flight to JFK. This Model can help sustain daily PIA flights to JFK and they might be getting very few passenger from DXB to JFK sector as well but only when non availability of seats on EK and having cheap pk fare.
Fortune favours brave.

Emirates has officially denied the rumour, hence there is no need to further dwell on the issue. Moroever neither thier business strategy nor their present fleet have the capacity to operate domestically in Pakistan.

EK can deny it all they like, it is likely talks were held but didnt lead to anything, and they would have set up a seprate airline for it, not operated as Emirates using 777 fleet.

Wasnt Qatar also interested in domestic flying back in 2007?

Why would Emirates be interested in 'setting up' a new airline, invest capital in a commercially uncertain, politically unstable environment. Makes no business sense.
