Skardu-bound PIA Flight PK-451 Returns to Islamabad Due to Bird Strike

According to Dunya News, a PIA aircraft performing airline's Islamabad to Skardu flight PK-451 returned to Islamabad after suffering bird hit.

The aircraft landed safely at Islamabad and is being examined by PIA Engineering.

According to information on following link, today PIA Airbus A320-216 registration AP-BLZ performed flight PK-451.

According to Islamabad Airport website, flight PK-451 departed from Islamabad at 4:19 PM. Flight's scheduled departure time was 10:45 AM.

AP-BLZ departed from Islamabad at 4:18 PM as flight PK-451 to Skardu.

It means the A320 was cleared to perform this flight after undergoing bird hit examination at Islamabad Airport. The aircraft had returned to Islamabad at 3:23 PM.

This problem has to be dealt with on a priority basis or else these birds will demolish these a/c left and right. I shudder to think what those 787's will be subjected to once they're in service. That composite repair shop will be kept well busy.

PIA, Air Force, CAA, etc have given hundreds of ads on hazards of Bird Strike but our illiterate, both media and Awaam have never taken it serious. Now there should be some laws made against those who throw the waste which attracts birds near air fields or if we have laws there should be implementation done on it. If Prime Minister is so serious about #BrandNawazShariff and bringing glory of PIA back, he should also concentrate on this issue.
