This A319 construction number 2404 was built in 2005 and it performed test flight TK-6840 in Shaheen Air livery from & to Istanbul Ataturk International Airport today. The aircraft's previous operator was Turkish Airlines.

After arrival, shaheen will have 20 total aircrafts.

Hopefully these are utilized on domestic routes. 150 seats on a319 will be crampy and not suitable for 2+ hour flights. I wonder why didn't they fit 160 seats, under ESEA limits. FAA limits to 150 but it is not going to be flying in USA. 10 extra seats and 7 aircrafts, that's 70 extra seats.

primarily meaning (not 100%) it "might" be used for karachi to dubai?

Hope it brings lots of success for shaheen. So they can grow and also add a321s for far east and east europe routes and more a330s.

It will only operate domestic while the 320 will gradually switch to international sectors.

The new livery will be introduced on all aircraft in phases

Five Turkish A319-132 are leased from Aer Cap and probably those five are being leased by Shaheen.

Shaheen should look at routes like Lahore-Skardu, Islamabad-Skardu that would be great for their A319s and direct flight from Lahore to Northern Areas would be a great option rather then flying through Islamabad.

Only one 737 remains in the Shaheen fleet and these seven A319s will probably be used for expansion on domestic and regional routes.

Layout of 150 is very high density, with a maximum of 156 allowed by Airbus.

Considering Pakistanis travel with a lot of luggage and high temperatures in the summer restrict take off weight.

Shaheen should have opted for 144 seat layout used by Air Blue in the past.

Impressive growth by Shaheen.

Phasing out 30 year old 737-200s and went to 20 year old 737-400s and now inducting 10 year old A330/320/319.

Progress. In ten years they will be beating PIA for sure.

Second that, they should have done a better job on livery. Looks cramped with too much design, colors and text
