As of latest information, aircraft AP-BEU (A310), AP-BFY (B747), AP-BC*(*F or T) (B737) de-registered and PIA markings removed.

AP-BC* (*F or T) PIA markings being removed.

Just wondering why did it take them 2 years to do that ? Were they in reserve?

Memorable photo of AP-BEU taken at Karachi Airport on May 13, 1994, after A310's arrival as delivery flight from Toulouse.

I thought A310 was being used specificaly for cargo space, otherwise they could have switched to A320 when they came in, they could have used 737 too when those were around.

Around that time we should have 2-4 b788. I did say in second post that a310 will not be getting withdrawn this year. It's too early and when withdrawn, where will the pilots go? Not a320, and as such, surplus for b777 and a330. It was a premature announcement rather.

I was surprised to hear they will stop a310 service, when we haven't received any new airplanes apart from a333, which is not an a310 replacement.

I travelled in AP-BEQ last week on KHI-KUL route. She isn't in great condition for sure. I think they operating as long as they are air worthy otherwise the seats, IFE monitors, washrooms and other amenities are in a very poor conditions.

Out of these four A310, AP-BEQ is the oldest one and should be the first one to retire. It was manufacture in August 1992 and already 24 year old and have C check due by end of October 16.

Hopefully, at least AP-BEQ will not be flying in November.

BTW, AP-BEQ was a white tail A310 bought by PIA. The A310, not taken up by LACSA, performed first flight in July 1992 before going to storage in Toulouse and later at Lemwerder Airport. PIA acquired it and got its delivery in December 1993.

AP-BEQ powered with General Electric engines.

AP-BGO, AP-BGP & AP-BGR powered with Pratt & Whitney engines.

To make it easier for you, all 310s having letter 'G' in their registrations are not GE ones, and the one which does not have 'G' is GE one.
