Three landing gear incidents in a short span of time, most recent NL718 in Lahore, coming from Jeddah with 370 passengers on board. Speaks volumes about their safety and maintenance procedures.

String of incidents is unfortunate for Shaheen. A number of them appear to be minor incidents exaggerated by news media. And, one of their 737 met accident at Lahore due to bird hit that damaged/disabled aircraft nose wheel steering.

Shaheen Air aircraft are performing flights to gulf countries, Malaysia and Manchester/UK apparently without complaints/warnings from aviation regulatory bodies of those countries.

Thats what happens when you make the EX PIA Engineering Union (SAEP) selectee for Director, the head of your engineering department. Remember 3 years ago when PIA fleet was down to 18 aircraft and even 777s were parked and cannibalized? Yes, same guy who was Director Eng for PIA is now in charge of Shaheen. Enjoy.

But Shaheen is a private company and one would think that they would hire relatively competent and sound personnel for a high level technical position. Or the old adage, "kam chalao"?

Media hype in my opinion. I learnt it was some NWS problem so they stopped on rwy and needed tow to vacate. It is not a serious incident or even an occurence. Similarly other two incidents mentioned in the news report are un-related. In a similar way there have been a number of IFSDs in PIA in recent months, one last week if i recall correctly. Shall we condemn the while PIA maintennace and engg for that?

One of Shaheen Air Boeing 737-400 accidents was caused by bad landing by apparently intoxicated pilot. The airline's engineering department cannot be held responsible for that accident.

I must say Mr. Ali is rather provocative, considering he is the site administrator.
In the absence of the official accident report, speculation is best kept private.

^i will tend to agree that there is special support for Shaheen air from some members including the admin Abbas. I was surprised to see that while the matter is in court and inquiries going on Abbas went ahead to convict the pilot involved while giving clean chit to the airline. Important to mention that pilot is pleading innocent so everyone need to wait for the court's verdict.

Also will add that I came across a couple of trip reports for Shaheen soon after they launched KL and MAN sectors and honestly felt like reading 'paid content' the way these complimented the NL service.
