British airways too fly to India, yet does not service Pakistan.
Britain has far larger Pakistani population than Canada. So Air Canada isn't going to do it when BA/Virgin does not. Maybe security issues?

Pakistan was not served by any Canadian airline even when the country was in route network of a number of leading European airlines.

Thanks for friends for their comments and clarifying the reason ... any effort from CAA to bring Cathy Pacific back to start service in PAK airports?

According to people I know at Cathay they are not interested in returning to Pakistan anytime soon saying that there are too many bs taxes with flying into Pakistan and the ME3 holds a monopoly on those routes

Cathay Dragon can fly to Pakistan.
As for Air Canada flying to India, sorry but you cannot compare India and Pakistan anymore, India is in a league of its own now, also you post makes its seem like India is some Banana republic while Pakistan is Paradise on earth so how dare AC fly to that backward place and not to heavenly Pakistan, is what its coming accross as, get real.

Couldn't agree more. Days of western airlines flying to PK are over. and not just because of ME3 and TKCoyBoy wrote:Cathay Dragon can fly to Pakistan.

Re: Why Air Canada not fly to PAK
i still see potential for European/Western carriers flying into Pakistan specifically Lahore, due to the Hotel under construction nearby the terminal which will ease the security concern for crew layover; one of European carrier has already considered Lahore for operations though things are not yet final on their part.
