Lahore Airport Chief Operating Officer/Airport Manager has requested for slot timings for repair and maintenance of airport's main Runway 36R/18L facing very frequent patch eruption.

Main Runway 36R/18L has been facing very frequent patch eruption which is being treated by Civil (M&D) with immediate and remedial action. However Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) surface has not been able to to sustain the bearing load of the aircraft in the critical area of touch down near Taxiway Tango which had been highlighted many times before the higher authority.

In this connection, available slot timings are required to repair the said area and the part of runway for which slot timings had been provided by ANS Section during which no flight will be affected as Runway 36L will be available for aircraft lower than Airbus A300 and Boeing 777.

During slot timings, secondary runway will be available for arriving and departing aircraft. Main Runway 36R will not be available during slot timings. However, in case of emergency, the main runway will be available 15 minutes prior to the notice.

It is request to accord for issuance of NOTAM for above mentioned timings for repair/maintenance of Runway 36R for a period of seven working days with effect August 1 to 9, 2019 (Saturday and Sunday excluded) as early as possible to start the work.

Lahore Airport main Runway 36R/18L will remain closed for repair and maintenance for seven working days from August 1 to August 9 (Saturday & Sunday excluded). Secondary Runway 36L/18R will be available during closures. However, in case of emergency, main runway will be available at 15 minutes prior notice.

On December 23, Lahore Airport main Runway 36R/18L will be closed for flight operations for maintenance/repairs work between 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

During main runway closure, secondary Runway 36L/18R will be available for flight operations. Airlines are advised to operate aircraft according to strength of secondary Runway 36L/18R having Pavement Classification Number (PCN) value 69/F/C/Y/T.

Friday between 10:10 AM and 1:00 PM

However, during limited weather conditions main Runway 36R/18L may be used having PCN 85/R/B/X/U.

Abbas bhai , do you really think this is the worst time especially during FOG season when things are always out of control and yet they are again playing with the runway. The whole summer season needs to be utilized for resurfacing or upgrading so winters can easy manageable.

Irrespective of above mentioned schedule, aircraft operations compatible with PCN 69/F/C/Y/T shall be carried out on secondary Runway 36L/18R.

However during landing, weather conditions or due to operational reason main Runway 36R/18L may be used/offered. Aircraft operations compatible with main Runway 36R/18L PCN 85/R/B/X/U to observe its non-availability during mentioned specific hours.

From March 30 to September 30, Taxiway H will not be available for indefinite period due to rehabilitation work. However first 300 feet of Taxiway H link till Taxiway K link junction is available for taxiing in/out for Pakistan Air Force (PAF) tarmac. All aircraft to follow Taxiway K while taxiing in and out of PAF tarmac.

From April 24 to June 4, Lahore Airport primary Runway 36R/18L shall remain closed for two hours daily for civil maintenance works. The airport's secondary Runway 36L/18R (having PCN VALUE 69/F/C/Y/T) shall remain available during primary runway closure timings.
