Flight Delayed Due to Poor Visibility at Lahore Airport

According to a news channel, today arrival of PIA Karachi to Lahore flight PK-302 was delayed due to poor visibility at Lahore Airport.

According to Lahore Airport website, PK-302 with scheduled arrival time of 9:45 AM is now expected to land at the airport at 1:15 PM.

Completion of ILS CAT-IIIB system installation on Lahore Airport Runway 36R/18L is expected by the end of this year. The system will allow aircraft landings in poor visibility.

PK 760 initiated approach for 36L but had to go around at the last moment. It diverted to Sialkot and still probably hasn't taken off from there.
Yesterday also oman air 343 had to go around because the pilot wasn't visual with the runway at minima.
They need to complete the work on 36R soon to avoid such diversions.

Shaheen 142 also diverting to Multan .
Although a while ago Pk 302 and 651 landed at lahore.

According to DAWN News channel, a privately owned airline aircraft that was performing Karachi to Lahore flight and landed at Multan Airport has not been able to depart from Multan so far.

Passengers of the flight are protesting in the lounge of Multan Airport.

The aircraft has not been able to depart from Multan due to some technical problem, according to the news channel.

Probably, it's Shaheen Air Karachi to Lahore flight NL-142 that diverted to Multan today due to poor visibility at Lahore Airport.

Today, Shaheen Air Airbus A320-232 registration AP-BLM performed flight NL-142. The A320 landed at Multan Airport at 4:28 PM.

AP-BLM departed from Multan at 1:23 AM as flight NL-142 to Lahore.

According to "The News" report, presently Lahore Airport is without any Instrument Landing System (ILS).

The older ILS CAT-II has been dismantled for installation of new ILS CAT-IIIB. Maybe that's why flights are getting diverted even in slightly better visibility conditions at Lahore before the start of foggy days?

Work for installation of ILS CAT-IIIB is expected to be completed by November 20.
