Shaheenz decision is great as this will surely improve the international traffic.
What shaheen needs to do is try to replace the B734 aircrafts as the avg age is on higher side around 22 years for these Boeing birds and the incidents oflate that did occur with them.
A320 with some A321s would be great. And by doing this they will operate all airbus fleet. That also will be plus point.
All the best to shaheen

^ Yes, Shaheen Air should have all-Airbus fleet comprising A330 and A320 family aircraft. It will bring down crew training, aircraft maintenance costs etc. Fleet standardisation should be given importance.
They can base four A330-200s one each at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar.

I think so because seven A330s at at time will be too many in Shaheen Air fleet unless the airline has significant route network expansion/consolidation plan for year 2016.viasa wrote:So this four planes would replace the older three A330-300s???

Re: Shaheen Air to Induct Four ex-KLM Airbus A330-200 Aircraft
Ger, do you have any idea whether these will be painted again by KLM E&M? as happened previously with one of the A330s of Shaheen? Or will they be painted by someone else?
I also think that Shaheen has a great opportunity to expand the route network and move to Europe with this fleet.

^ Will depend on aircraft owner/lessor AerCap where they want these A330s to undergo maintenance checks, cabin configuration changes (if any), painting in Shaheen Air livery before delivery to Shaheen Air.

Re: Shaheen Air to Induct Four ex-KLM Airbus A330-200 Aircraft
Why PIA unable to get planes in a way the shaheen air got?
If we see the past once there planes reach to the maximum life span, news come that deal for replacement planes done and it start materialized whereas PIA from 40 planes reached to around 20-24 and now they are increasing the fleet.
SO better planning by Shaheen Air?

Sadly, that's the difference between a Private Organization and a Government Organization in Pakistan .
