Shaheen Air Planning to Start Flights for Manchester

Post by Abbas Ali »

Shaheen Air is planning to start flights for Manchester and East Midlands Airport in year 2016 with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Info source: http://www.sbwire.com/press-releases/sh ... 634477.htm

Apparently it also means Shaheen Air is planning to induct A330-200 aircraft - most likely dry leased in full Shaheen Air livery.

Probably three younger A330-200s to replace three ageing A330-300s in Shaheen Air fleet?

Does this expand in fleet makes room for the cadet pilots on the 737'S/A320'S training at Shaheen Air Flying Training School Faisalabad (SAFTS) cause according to some sources they have been given in-written job guarantee at Shaheen Airline after they get their CPL/IR licence from the flying training academy which is totally performance based whose merit criteria is not declared yet that on what basis they would be given priorities. Shaheen Airline has been planning to acquire more A320'S in the near future on dry lease too.

^ Yes, I've also heard about Shaheen Air plan to induct more A320s in its fleet in 2016.

Probably some of those A320s will replace Boeing 737-400 aircraft in airline's fleet.

They should standardise with all Airbus fleet to bring down crew/engineering personnel training and aircraft maintenance costs.

Shaheen getting 4 x 330-300 starting Feb, the existing 330 lease expires by the end of 2016 and will be returned, Shaheen seeking to replace 734 with 321 and also seeking 330-200 to expand its fleet...

Shaheen also planning to start BKK and KL in 2016.

A local travel agent in the know said that whether or not the MAN operations will commence is up in the air; it may not even happen. More should be known within a fortnight.

It is also rumored that Ghulam Raza Channa ex-Airblue UK Country Manager is working for Shaheen and assisting with starting this route.

375 full economy seats on a330-200 will be good. KHI-JED, DXB or other 2-4 hour long flights. They can even do 406 seats with some modification.

Asalamalikum brother

from 300 to 200. They are just replacing aircraft, so how can they introduce new routes? Does it mean that before the airplanes were not fully utilized?

This aircraft flying to Manchester means not flying to ME twice (ME being 3-4 hour flight and UK being 6-7 hour)

This info was uploaded on the travel agency website in Oct 2015. I spoke to them only yesterday as I'm looking to travel during Easter. They said there is no information forthcoming from Shaheen representatives at the moment as to WHEN and IF these flights will actually commence. Currently there are no tickets on sale contrary to the article.

There has been no mention of this route on Shaheens website or social media whereas AirBlue for the last 6-8 weeks have had the 'Manchester Coming Soon' on their website, social media and email marketing. I have been reliably told that AirBlue are looking to commence this route in the Summer.

Manchester has begun appearing in list of cities on Shaheen Air website.

https://www.shaheenair.com/

Apparently the airline will operate flights between Islamabad and Manchester.
