Re: Air Indus,Bhoja or AeroAsia
I have found IL86 more comfy than 747. More space and seats were quite wide !!
One of the HUGE cockpit i have ever seen with 5 operational crew seating.
1-Captain.
2-First Officer.
3-Flight Engineer with control panel and extra pair of throttles. Steer able seat on railing track back n forth adjustable from desk to main pedestal.
4-Navigator.
5-Radio Operator.
6-Observer.
IL96-300 Cockpit.

BTW, does anyone have photo of Aeroflot Ilyushin Il-86 registration RA-86110 that was wet leased to PIA during Hajj flights season in early 1990s? That Il-86 was in hybrid livery with green tail and white PIA logo.

^ Thank you Ashar for that link.
From information on their website, Hajvairy Group appears financially strong with good repute as indicated by their clients list. Hope they consider re-launching Hajvairy Airlines with newer Airbus or Boeing equipment.
BTW, it seems their website has not been updated with new information since year 2010.

Re: Air Indus,Bhoja or AeroAsia
thanks for sharing with us part of pakistan aviation history( hajvairy airlines and their il-86) that many of us were not aware.
i remembered flying a few times on aero asia and i was always satisfied although that in 2005 they were claining that their b732 and dc9 were (still) modern.
i once flew on safe air tu 154. comfortable cabin.
i also remember their deafening noises ( as if the plane was about to crash/or their engines exploding) -although a few km from multan airport.

In May 16, 2009 newspaper, Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced cancellation of Regular Public Transport (Airline) licence issued on June 25, 1999, to Safe Air International.
