Helicopter Crashes in Mansehra
According to news sources, a helicopter has crashed into Siri Kot hill, Phulra/Mahar Lassan/Lassan Nawab in Mansehra.
Details of survivors and casualties not available.
Information about helicopter type and its operator also not available.
The accident happened around 6:50 PM. The helicopter caught fire after crash.

According to Abb Takk news channel, it was a Pakistan Army helicopter. Seven people died in the accident.
Siri Khartota given as crash location in Mansehra.

The military helicopter was flying from Rawalpindi to Gilgit, according to Dunya News channel.

According to latest reports, it was Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter flying from Rawalpindi to Gilgit.

Helicopter wreckage still burning. Nine dead bodies retrieved from crash site by locals.
Due to difficult terrain investigation/rescue teams are going to reach crash site by foot.

* The Mi-17 helicopter belonged to Pakistan Army Aviation.
* The helicopter was carrying a total of twelve people including crew members and Pakistan Army Medical Corps personnel.
* The helicopter had departed from Qasim Army Aviation Base, Dhamial, Rawalpindi, to take part in rescue operations in Gilgit.
* The helicopter caught fire in the air and crashed in Lassan Nawab area around 6:00 PM.
* Nine people including two pilots died in the accident.

Sad day for Army and the whole nation, RIP.
I don't think the pictures posted by forum member 'nd' belong to the same ill-fated MI-17 because it crashed today in the evening and the pictures posted is showing bright sunny day. Since the crash, its been almost 6 hours only with next day's sun still to rise.

Btw, there was some another news i was reading on Facebook this past evening about an helicopter making emergency landing in Chitral/ Gilgit. I wonder if the news reporter was referring to the same incident.

Chitral news is different, they had issue while taking off/lift and crew did abort that cause minor injuries to two of the occupant.
