If we talk about the A320's the requirement is going to be something like this 13 into 8 = 104 first officers required
Once again I dont think the A320 is going to do more then 250 hours a month, so why do they need 8 first officers.
I think the basic salary is for 70 hours per month, so even with 50 hours a month PIA does not need for then 5 per aircraft or a total of 65 for the entire fleet.
AP-BHO is now operational !!
Total ATRs flying now are Nine(9).
AP-BHP inshaALLAH rolling out mid of next month....

Makes sense. But what about succession planning? There are around 50+ retirements by year end 2015 from different equipment especially B777 creating shortage of flight crew,
So keeping 8 F/O's on ATR is no big deal since transition would be very quick in the coming months.
Otherwise the operation will be hampered due crew contraints in the coming months after the retirements take place, as u r not very much aware of PALPA working agreement regarding rest and other things that's why as a layman ur post is justified but reality is quite different!

Re-hiring is an option but again palpa is against it and recently this point got turned down by PIA BoDs.
But if once the retirements take place by end of this year there wont be sufficient crew even to fly the 250 hours of type.
So in order to avoid that situation they have planned to keep minimum 6 FOs on ATR and 320 so currently FOs on ATR should be around 60. Keeping AP-BHN out of picture so taking 10 ATRs into account.

That's a great news! Good to see AP-BHO back. Hope to see AP-BHP flying by mid of august too. InshAllah! That's right I don't see those pilots getting a contract signed to fly after 60 and as far as this inititaive by PALPA is concerned according to my opinion PALPA is right there so just appreciate the fact that they are standing against something which is not going to be good for the airline. 50 plus retirements by the end of 2015. That's a big number. If a captain retires in that case they gotta train a good number of cadets cause not every pilot gets to being promoted to 777 as a captain. So they gotta plan. They have to plan ahead.

Wondering how AP-BHP is doing, is it online or waiting for spares?
Still awaiting some spares and ONE engine.
