Shaheen Air Accident at Quetta

This morning travelled on Shaheen Air flt NL 151 with family from Islamabad. At UET after touch down the aircraft suffered bad turbulence, skidded to the left side (landing was on R/W13) before crew managed to recover and aircraft came to rest on r/w at the edge of taxiway Juliet. Crew took a while to settle down and then F/O mentioned in his PA that they suspect a flat tyre upon touch down.

1. The flight was operated by B 377-400, AP-BJT.
2. Emergency services were deploye including fire tenders and ambulances.
3. Disembarkation took place on the R/W.
4. No apology from crew infuriated the passengers.

The first inspection shows the the link between the tyres on the left landing gear was broken. The runway is now closed and the FZ flight that was ready for DXB is now stranded. However, since the nose landing gear is intact, CAA hopes that they will be able to clear the runway soon with technical assistance and equipment of PAF.

Dunya News says tyre burst during takeoff

QUETTA (Dunya News) – A passenger plane of private airline narrowly escaped an accident as its tyre bursted during takeoff at Quetta airport today (Thursday), Dunya News reported.

The incident took place when a plane, scheduled to take passengers from Quetta to Islamabad, witnessed tyre burst while taking off. However, all the 90 passengers were saved in the incident.

Runway was cleared in about an hours's time. FZ 342 that was stuck due to NL incident arrived at DXB at 15:07 against scheduled time of 13:30. AP BJT however is now stranded at Quetta for repairs and NL152 at was due to arrive at ISB from Quetta is now shown indefinite under status.

Due to Shaheen Air incident, flydubai flight from Quetta to Dubai suffered delay of more than three hours.

The Shaheen Air aircraft developed faults in its landing gear/wheels while landing at the airport. As a result, the aircraft became immovable, blocking the runway for two and a half hours.

According to a local newspaper report, flight NL-151 was carrying 147 passengers and 8 crew members.

Seems the Boeing 737 during landing suffered tyre burst that caused damage to landing gear that resulted in delay in removing the aircraft from runway.

BTW, does CAA have proper equipment to remove disabled aircraft from Quetta Airport runway?

BTW, Shaheen Air Boeing 737-4Q8 registration AP-BJT involved in incident at Quetta has returned to service.

AP-BJT landed at Islamabad Airport at 2:31 AM on July 17 as Shaheen Air flight NL-152 from Quetta.

NL-152 scheduled time of arrival was 1:20 PM on July 16.
