I think Pakistan to Hong Kong is a 6.5 hour flight.

Still an A320 would be a bad option.

Maybe once PIA has the A330-200 it can operate the flight non-stop and not via Bangkok like it use to .

Bangkok is annoying I remember once our flight was delayed 8 hours because it was raining there
Maybe PIA could do some other destination in the far east VIA Hong Kong

HKG via BKK is good because you can pick up alot of tourist/business travel between HKG and BKK. Sri Lankan is doing this quite successfully along with all the other regional and Asian players.

Well it took longer to fly PIA then Thai like that and PIA lost customers like that too

Cathay Pacific Boeing 747-300s powered with Rolls-Royce engines was a controversial deal in PIA's history.

At that time i.e. in 1999, PIA should have tried to get new or used Boeing 747-400 aircraft powered with General Electric engines to replace its Boeing 747-200Bs that were powered with Pratt & Whitney engines.

Boeing had offered brand new 744s NTU Philippine Airlines, refurbishment costs prevented PK from taking those, or was that just an excuse?
