Now Imagine an A320 with Nawaz sharif's photo on itfurqan_haider wrote:Everyone is posting their views/ideas, so I have one also ... (As keeping in mind PIA has a great revenue generated just for changing liveries)
They should paint tails with pics of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal and if possible mine(I can send a DSLR one!!!) just like Norwegian did.
And I am going to talk to Shujaat Azeem, hoping he is very much FAARIGH all the time...
Sounds worse than the truck paint right ?

Re: A320 Truck Art
First of all what we want to proof by making these retro liveries.
Does SA to PM on aviation has any idea about productive manhours concept.
Does these retro liveries will improve our airline services to our customer,
and balance sheet of our airline.
we already did this in Mr.Tariq Kirmani tenure and end up by imposing EU ban on PIA.
Because everybody was involve in provincial tail liveries and nobody is seeing the faxes,
which ESAFA inspectors are sending to headoffice.
Yes many airline do this but if you compare PIA balance sheet with any of those airlines,
we will be bottom in that list.
Its now 68 years please start walking in right direction.
we had made ourself a joke in entire world by making such decisions.
Thanks.

Re: A320 Truck Art
I personally like the concept of a truck art livery. It can be a good attraction as well however, I feel now may not be the best time to implement this.
May be some where down the road. I also strongly suggest that no more 320s should be painted in retro livery. It just takes away the uniqueness element from it. Irrespective how awful the current livery is, the Air Asia 320s in my opinion should sport it rather than the retro version.
I will however still love to see AP-BGY in the 80's colors

Re: A320 Truck Art
Personally i am also in favor of Truck Art livery but these paint jobs are done by experienced , well trained and full of resources people.PIA was unable to do a simple retro livery on it's Airbuses after failing three times .Squawk_1200 wrote:Truck art wont look bad on PIA aircraft. Some major airlines had weird liveries.
They would just turn the aircraft into a disgusting aircraft and the livery would not boost PIA's image but lower it.

They could use Vinyl stickers which are cheaper to make and can be removed if not liked
And you can ask profresstionals to design them

Re: A320 Truck Art
There is no reason to paint the aircraft in truck art.
The 1960s livery has been done to celebrate 60 years of PIA.
Singapore Airlines did something to celebrate 50 years of independence.
Why should PIA paint its aircraft in truck art.
Yes Pakistan is getting some recognition of its truck art around the world, but I feel PIA has other more pressing needs.
Clean cabins and toilets.
On time departures.
Not cancelling international flights.
competitive fares.
Increasing market share.
these are some of the things Shujat Azeem and the rest of the team should worry about.

Re: A320 Truck Art
Yes Majority Airlines are now using this VINYL STICKERS for liveries and can be managed easily.... THis is cost effective compare to paint the whole section of aircraft....Emirates is using stickers now a days...Pakistan-1 wrote:They could use Vinyl stickers which are cheaper to make and can be removed if not liked

Re: A320 Truck Art
PIA should be busy with other aspects that require investments much more than this livery. Its okay, we dont need another new livery. Invest that money in a better IT infrastructure and crew training instead of this nonsense to remain competetive. Looks like chairman has too much free time to listen to what suggestions people are giving him instead of using his brains and start doing some business.
