Which aircraft is suitable to take place of Boeing 747-300s phased out from PIA fleet?
I voted for Boeing 777-300ER.

Based on logic 773 based on prestige and visionary planning 748, though I cant bear the current livery on 747s and happy to see them go.

I voted B77W but in all honesty a B789 or A359 would probably be more properly suited for PK's needs.

PIA needs to standardize its fleet to three types.
777-300ER U.K and North America
A330-200 Europe, Far East and Saudi Arabia
A320-200 South Asia, U.A.E, Middle East, Domestic
777-300ER U.K and North America

My vote for B777-300ER.
No doubt B747 was a great aircraft of the past era, but twin-engine aircraft like B777-300ER ruling now; keeping in mind fuel efficiency, safety record, operation & maintenance costs etc.

Re: Boeing 747-8 vs Boeing 777-300ER
In my view There are 2 reasond why PIA go for the 747-8 either because of Prestige or because they got a very good Offer from Boring ad they are hardly looking for Customers gor this Model. I mean most of the 747-8 are Freighter Versions only LH has ordered a larger Quantity of these in the PAX Version. Or both reason may apply together.
From the Point of view of Cost per Seat (including fuel codts and maintance) depending on the seating configuration the 77W should be the better option.
Finally I by myself would also love to see the 787 or 359 but that not seems to be an option.
I appreciate that they even planning to acquire brand new Widebodies instead of lessing some 10-20 years old used Aircraft.

B77W is way too effective in operations cost effectively especially flying ULH routes... Compares to 7478i which is also design for ULH operations. Lets see how PIA will use these big birds...
EK, EY, SV, PK, AIR BLUE, EASY JET, AA, TG, MH, FLY BE, VUELING, SAS, SWISS, LH, BA, AIR BERLIN, RYAN AIR, GERMAN WINGS, JET BLUE, U.A, QATAR , AZAL ...

I vote for B777 but I think PIA also think 2 - 3 A380s and they can induct them from Malysia if they are phasing them out , they r still brand new for JED routes.
