Both, if you paint planes in open hangars with no climate control, what else can be expected.Abbas Ali wrote:^ low quality paint or poor finishing work?

^ That's right and likely reason.
Last year, Jordan Aviation Airbus A320-211 (JY-JAT) was also seen with chipped off paint on vertical stabiliser that was painted by PIA in Karachi.

Apparently FlightRadar24 could nto pickup Skardu as the destination. The tracking was visible till Naran but not onwards to the east. It would be nice to put up an ADS-B receiver up in the north to capture flight tracks on these routes.

1960s
A PIA Douglas DC-3 Dakota taxiing under the command of Capt. Johnny Sadiq at Skardu Airport. Haramosh (Peak 58) and neighbouring peaks form a dramatic backcloth to the scene.
1970s
PIA Fokker F27 Friendship Mark 200 (registration AP-AXB) at Skardu Airport.
1980s
PIA Boeing 737-340 (registration AP-BCC) at Skardu Airport.

Thanks for your input TAILWIND.TAILWIND wrote:It is a big deal. Ask the people of Skardu Valley what great facility is this. ATR flights require clear weather enroute as well, hence there are frequent cancellations, whereas the A320 is not affected by enroute wx, if skardu valley is clear, the flight can operates, moreover with three times the capacity, more ppl are facilitated. Cant say now, but years ago, the B733 flights use to be full even in winters, so pax load is not a problem.skycaptain787 wrote:What's the big deal with the introduction of 320 on this route?? Can anyone explain please? Will they even be having enough payload ?

2. In High Humidity
3. In direct Sunlight
4. In the Wind
5. In a dusty place
...and PIA paint the aircraft exterior at KHI station where;

1. High Humidity

Thunderstorm at OPRN and there might be some enroute weather too. Let's see if the flight operates or not.
