The Problem with the 777X is that they would be delivered after 2020.riz wrote:I wish they are 777 X .

BUT PIA is needing these 777 as soon as possible - so 777-300ER would be a good option as they are now cheaper as they have to fill the production slots until 2020 (due to the 777X)

Re: More Boeing 777s to be added in PIA fleet
So why did they delay the 5 777 and 5 options? We could've had had them this year...
Is the PM talking about those 10 arriving in 2017 or 10 leased and 5+5 bought in 2017? Cuz that would be a lot of 777s.... Also we got present tenders for wide bodies. Seems very confusing.
Maybe get 787/a330 as we need them badly for East Asia, ME and Europe routes. Many leaseing companies have orders for a330neo or 787, so we can lease them by 2016/2017

Order of 5 77W with 5 optional.... Why not PIA is thinking about chaging OPTIONAL order into 787s.... which is ideally capable as well as suitable for long haul with medium capacity.
They must think about adding bulkrest for Crew in 77L and new 77Ws so they can easily manage the crew too.

There is already bulk rest for 77L. This is why the union allows them only to travel to NA. Once they add it on 77w, then the union will allow it to travel as well.Omairi7 wrote:Order of 5 77W with 5 optional.... If the switch the option to 787, they'll be on a long waiting list. But if they excercise 5 777 options, then it means and I hope I'm not wrong, they'll get them at agreed upon time when options were signed, so likely the same year.
But not sure where 22 b777 will fly? 10 on order and 3 to be leased and 9 already they have.
What they can do is take the option and lease it to shaheen or airblue and use that money to lease 787/a330. Or don't excercise the option and place order for 787/a330. A330neo is good choice considering backlog isn't huge. I'd love to see 22 b777 flying, but they really need a medium range wide body. ATR, a320 and directly 777 isn't suitable. Not even a321 inbetween. So maybe convert those 5 options to 777x instead for 2020-2023 delivery.

Agreed with Boeing 787....
Once i read somewhere about PIA strategy and plan which includes Argentina via south africa, sydney and melbourne, hong kong, kualalumpur, singapore, Jakarta,Chicago, San Fransisco, Los Angeles via Shanghai, Houston, Dallas and in Europe they were looking for destinations like Athens, Munich, Zurich and Geneva, Madrid and Barcelona(past) etc (sorry if i missed any). Some of the routes were already granted and flown too. And PIA can serve these destinations with lots of good loads depends on the flight schedule and services....

^ Malaysian B777s are powered with Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engines.
General Electric GE90 engines power PIA B777s and I think PIA should add B777s powered with GE90 engines for smooth & efficient engines maintenance/support programme for airline's B777 fleet.

Boeing planning to increase capacity & reduce weight to cut fuel consumption by reducing size of its toilets of 773ER before introduction of 777X, according to BI recorder, beneficial for PIA may be as slots available?

Do we really need 777s? KLM is phasing out their 747s combi soon they are still good for a few years use. PIA might be able to use them for hajj and other routes.
