Sukkur-bound PIA Flight Diverted to Lahore Due to Engine Problem

According to City42 news channel, on May 27 a PIA ATR turboprop aircraft performing Islamabad to Sukkur flight landed at Lahore Airport due to some technical problem with engine number two of the aircraft. The engine was shut down during the flight and the aircraft made safe landing with single engine at Lahore Airport.

The ATR has been grounded for engine inspection/repair by airline's engineering personnel.

Passengers have been sent to Sukkur by bus from Lahore.

I'm curious as to what bus service they were put on, as they paid airfare which is quite substantial and then being put on a long journey by bus.
Could they not be put on a Karachi flight and then bussed from there to Sukkur if that was closer?

It was Islamabad to Sukkur PIA flight PK-691, according to City42 newspaper.

I hope the airline chartered comfortable bus of Daewoo for sending passengers from Lahore to Sukkur.

I know a number of people who actually prefer punctual and comfortable Daewoo bus service instead of PIA for travel between Lahore and Islamabad. Their buses now also have Wi-Fi facility for passengers.

The aircraft was ATR 42-500 registration AP-BHP and it experienced problem with engine number two.
