I think it is time to buy/lease 787. We have too many 777! Even big airlines like Etihad, Qatar are investing big in a350/b787 airplanes.

That's different thing, Food cart can be mixed and loaded into PIA aircraft, same happen to ULD's as well but it didn't mean that PIA have bought from AI. Also, officially it is not possible to procure Aircraft from Air India.Even if AI bid for the Tender float by PIA, PIA is not going to buy. Ministry of Defense will not give nod to this deal.

Yes, ILFC and other leasing companies regularly get these planes. We don't need new, we can get used as well, as many airlines sometimes cancel their order that PIA can take over or just lease brand new (because it hasn't been 6 years since 787 came out).

Also, a330 is bad choice, considering a330neo is not GE engine/american. Thus, when we replace our a330 in the future, we will have to go back to 787 (be it 787 max etc). It is best to train our pilots for 787, which will also have similarities with 777-8/9, and one day they will be ready for 787-max.


Also, if God forbid the AI plane we buy, something ever happens to it, like landing gear or crash, we have many conspiracy theory believers in our country who will instantly say India had it preplanned. Even today many believe that our f-16 carry a kill switch by US so we can't use it against India.

yes today PK308 / PK309 AP-BMH operating KHI-ISB-KHI after PK302/PK303 today but unfortunately flightradar24.com did NOT update AP-BMH not yet cos they are busy or lazy or forget? You ask anyone to photo or look AP-BMH at Karachi or Islamabad but my brother work PIA in Lahore airport and he first time saw AP-BMH but photograph is prohibited inside airside. if you do NOT believe me then next time I will not put any update anymore

You are an honorable member of this group. We always believe you and you are right we must not rely on flightradar24.com. My soruces also confirmed that APBMH flown pk 302-303 rotation. Hope to see this bird on long haul inshallah.
