PK709 & PK711
Any one know why PK 709 to Manchester 17/04/15 is delayed by 5 hours and so is PK 711 for New York for 18/04/15 also delayed by 5 hours??

Re: PK709 & PK711
Yes. PK 709 was delayed due to delayed arrival of an extra section flight from Jeddah to Lahore. As far as PK 711 is concerned, surprisingly the B772(AP-BGK) which will come back from Manchester will fly to New York. After a very long time, we will see a B772 flying into New York. The change is surprising since the regular B77L is very much online and will fly to London tomorrow.

Hello and Assalam o alikum.
I am new to this forum but reads lots of post from last 2 years.
I just track Ap-BGk flying JFK-LHE sector non stop....
I know 777-200ER has the legs to do this route but with this configuration i think they used auxillary extra tanks or they blocked some economy seats?[img][img][/img][/img]
Please correct me if you have further information.

no extra fuel tanks are required to operate this sector with 777-200ER. In fact the fuel tanks were still 30 tonnes under capacity. No seats were blocked off either. All booked passengers travelled.

Well if this is the case then why not PIA used these aircrafts more often on Canada Routes or Americas Routes? Mostly stick with LRs. Infect They need to update LRs with latest business class and other relevant amenities to attract people and open new routes like Sydney or Los Angeles where large Pakistani presence resides.

I know 777200ER can fly nonstop no problem but PIA from JFK to LHE weight take off 274,000kg no problem for 329 passengers but if from LHE to JFK need weight 298000kg because of head wing.
AP-BGK flew nonstop from Boeing field to ISB 14hrs 45mins last Feb 2004 by Capt. Tariq Majeed

Re: PK709 & PK711
Thanks for the information.
I know about the range of 772ER but my mind didnt accept one thing. Why we are not upgrading these planes with latest equipment which might reduce some seats but increases the efficiency like Emirates did with high density plans.
Emirates upgraded high density 77W by reducing almost 20 seats and they can fly up to 10-11 hrs nonstop even more then that depends on route. I know they have ULH 77W but i am comparing high density with our 77W and 772ERs. As far as my information is concerned our planes are getting outdated from inside. Old fated seats, aged IFE system, broken lavatories etc....
