Post by AbdulAziz »

There is news that Saudi Authorities GACA refused Shaheen wet leased B767-204 ER JY-JAG to enter in Saudi Air space due to safety reasons, added that the AC is banned for operation in EU also.
according to flightradar24.com it was operating LHE - DMM yesterday then diverted to SHJ.

JY-JAG Shaheeen Air flight Lahore to Dammam flight NL-711 diverted to Sharjah on April 10. Apparently the wet leased Jordan Aviation Boeing 767 flew a holding pattern near Dubai before landing at Sharjah.

From Sharjah the aircraft flew to Lahore and from Lahore it operated Shaheen Air flight NL-768 to Muscat. Most likely from Sharjah it returned to Lahore with Dammam-bound passengers of flight NL-711 to accommodate them on Shaheen Air's next flight to Dammam from Lahore.

Btw, on April 8 JY-JAG operated Shaheen Air Lahore to Dammam flight NL-711 and Dammam to Lahore flight NL-712. Flight NL-711 was performed with a delay of six hours.

The Boeing 767, registered as JY-JAG and operated by Pakistan’s Shaheen Air, had followed the necessary application procedures to fly into the kingdom, but it was denied entry over safety issues and for not meeting international standards, the Saudi authority said.

The plane operated by the private Pakistani carrier was on loan from Jordan Aviation.

“The safety of the Saudi skies and the full commitment to the slightest safety standards is a top priority gr us,” GACA said. “We will not tolerate any abuse of such matters. We also stress that carriers should make sure they have the necessary permits from the destination country before they fly their flights there,” it said.

Feel sorry for the people that have no choice but to travel on these airlines who insist on flying outdated, and shabby equipment.

Are there any lawsuits filed against Shaheen for delaying people KNOWINGLY to Saudi Arabia on banned aircraft?

Seems the standards are quickly falling at Shaheen Air. Can they really not obtain a safe/proper aircraft on lease at all?

Dry leased Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft in Shaheen Air fleet regularly operate airline's flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia without complaints from Saudi aviation authorities.

Abbas Bhai,

Just a question?

Shaheen Air's JY-JAG was perfectly FIT and FINE for landing on 7th April, 2015. I wonder what goes wrong in just 3 days time as the authorities came to know in such a short time that this plane is not fit to enter into their air space???

Really not been able to figure out the real reason behind this........

^ Yes Rizwan, in the month of March that Boeing 767 was performing Shaheen Air flights between Islamabad & Jeddah, Islamabad & Riyadh and Peshawar & Jeddah without any objections from Saudis.

List of flights operated by JY-JAG between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the month of March can be found on following link:

http://libhomeradar.org/databasequery/r ... 0&limit=30

I think JY-JAG recently also went to Amman for maintenance checks.

If the KSA authorities think the aircraft is unfit to fly, I would have thought that if they deemed the aircraft unsafe, they would allow the passengers to get off it first (ASAP), rather than allowing them to fly for even longer, and then carry out any further actions later while the aircraft is on ground.

According to today's City42 newspaper, 270 passengers were aboard Shaheen Air April 9/10 Lahore to Dammam flight NL-711 performed by wet leased Jordan Aviation Boeing 767-204ER registration JY-JAG that diverted to Sharjah due to Saudi refusal to let aircraft enter Saudi air space.

The passengers of affected flight were flown to Dammam on April 10 by Shaheen Air Airbus A330-301 registration AP-BKN. The A330 carried 346 passengers to Dammam.
