Can anyone please explain this?

Post by TCAS »

I was tracking today's PK309 from Islamabad to Karachi just for fun and then I saw the aircraft turn rather it looks like it turned away from Karachi and then after flying in that direction for some time again headed back towards Karachi. I am most confused! Perhaps just a display error? Or am I missing something. Or it was holding waiting its turn...
Trying to attach the screenshot from FlightRadar.
Your opinions would be appreciated
Thanks!

Thanks for posting the image Abbas , so this means the zigzag lines are showing that the aircraft was in some sort of Holding pattern before it got clearance to land?

Actually it not holding nor the AC went back to east before approach KHI it was normal track but flight radar24 do this problem spacially in landing when speed and Alt are changing ... also AC can not do this much sharp angle turn ... its just system error only ..

Once you are on vectors, why will the controller give you a STAR? And that too when it would increase the flight time(Going back and then establishing on LOC)

Such errors on FR24 are normal.

seems you misunderstood my previous reply. i know very well that STAR is cancelled as soon as flight is vectored for approach/landing.

Regarding particular flight, it seems that flight continued towards KC as per ATC advise and then turned back on vectors for intercepting LOC/GS
