Commercial Flights to Resume at Saidu Sharif Airport

According to PTV News, Saidu Sharif is undergoing renovation work and there are plans to resume commercial flights at the airport.

In the past, PIA used Fokker F27 Friendship turboprop aircraft for flights between Peshawar and Islamabad via Saidu Sharif.

And, in October 2012, PIA announced resumption of flights for Saidu Sharif after a gap of five years. Flights for Saidu Sharif were suspended due to presence of militants/terrorists in the area.

PIA ATR 42-500 registration AP-BHM at Saidu Sharif Airport on October 10, 2012, after performing test flight PK-641 from Islamabad. Turboprop aircraft flight duration between Islamabad and Saidu Sharif is around forty minutes.
