A perfect replacement for A310s...?

Post by GEnx »

According to leeham, airbus has started offering a higher weight A321neo version to airlines. The aircraft would have a maximum take-off weight of 97t and fly about 4,100nm in a standard two-class configuration with 164 seats with the first delivery in 2019. It will carry extra tanks to increase range from 3500nm of a standard A321neo to 4100nm. This range is 100nm more than B757-200W and this aircraft will have 25% lower operating cost per seat than B757. Isn't this a perfect replacement for A310s/B757s? I think PIA should go for these neos. These aircrafts provide more flexibility. These are perfect for short to medium haul flights. And the only latest narrowbodies with such translantic capability.

I dont think PIA A310s will last until 2019.

Maybe regular A321s for medium heavy haul routes to Saudi Arabia, and UAE.

But for Europe and Far East where the 777 is to big, you need a 250 seater, so my guess is newer A330-200s which airbus is offering very cheap.

No money to pay PSO and others, how can they finance anything from the manufacturer......I also wonder how they will manage to pay for the 5 B777's that are supposed to come next year.....can anyone elighten us to whether that deal is still good?
Or has it been altered due to lack of funds?

^ Those five 777s are coming in 2015.

No reports of order cancellation from Boeing or PIA.
