Re: PIA Selling Aircraft Engines
Probably some also from the A300-B4 fleet phased out in 2004-05.Seventeen General Electric CF6-50 engines of Boeing 747-200B Combi aircraft.
What is PIA doing holding on to these engines ten years after the aircraft is phased out??
Maybe a couple of 747-367s should be retained for Saudi flights, until additional aircraft join the fleet.

Yes, I also think some of those powered PIA A300s.Amaad Lone wrote:Probably some also from the A300-B4 fleet phased out in 2004-05.Seventeen General Electric CF6-50 engines of Boeing 747-200B Combi aircraft.
Probably PIA had leased out some of those CF6-50 engines to other companies.Amaad Lone wrote:What is PIA doing holding on to these engines ten years after the aircraft is phased out??

Re: PIA Selling Aircraft Engines
Who is going to buy 30-35 year old crap from PIA.
These engines should be sold to scrap dealers who can maybe melt them.

Umar744. I believe both AP-BAK and AP-BAT were scrapped in 2012/13.
Could someone confirm that is the case?

Re: PIA Selling Aircraft Engines
The aircraft airframe may have been 35 years old. Engines could be newer, with parts that probably have minimal hours of use. These can be used for spare.Amaad Lone wrote:Who is going to buy 30-35 year old crap from PIA.

If PAF can buy 30 year old airplanes and move them into frontline, ie Mirages. I'm sure some spare parts dealer could do the same with the engines being sold by PIA.
