PIA Aircraft With 50 Years of China Service Markings

Post by Abbas Ali »

On April 29, 1964, PIA became the first airline from a non-communist country to operate scheduled passenger flights to China. The inaugural flight was operated with a Boeing 720-040B from Dacca (now Dhaka) to Shanghai via Canton.

The starboard side of AP-BEG is without these markings.

AP-BEG in these photos is seen at Malta Airport on August 28, 2014, where it made refueling stop as special flight PK-8002 from Mitiga International Airport, Tripoli, Libya, to Lahore with 223 Pakistanis evacuated from troubled Libya.

PIA advertisement in today's (April 20) newspaper welcoming President of China Xi Jinping on his visit to Pakistan.

Image

In this advertisement it would have been nice to see photo like following example showing nose section of PIA Airbus A310-300 with special marking celebrating fifty years of airline's flights between Pakistan and China.

Pak Cheen Dosti Zindabad and the Govt. of Pakistan is signing deals worth billions of dollars between the two countries. Every 3-4 months, we have a state visit from either the Pakistani PM to China or the Chinese President to Pakistan. All apparently going very well between the two countries but can someone explain why Chinese Civil Aviation does not allow pilots from Pakistan to work in China? I would like to have some answers, not guesses. Just for information, China has a huge and booming aviation market, they are terribly short of airline pilots , they recruit pilots from almost all over the world and the salaries they pay are the highest in the world.

In PIA advertisement in today's (April 21) newspaper is photo of airline's Boeing 777 modified to place PIA fifty years of China service logo near flight deck windows.

They could have used an original photo of PIA Airbus A310-300 sporting that logo.
