I respect your opinion, but IMHO under current circumstances, I can't see this happening in next 10 years.DocDamage wrote:I think OneWorld

before joining any alliance, PIA need to sort out so many issues which are directly linked with its passengers i.e. customer service on ground and in the air, inflight entertainment, flight frequencies, on-time arrivals & departures, etc.

Re: If PIA joins an Alliance what will it be?
Wont happen sadly for a long time to come.
PIA doesnt have the IT to hookup into a major alliance or atleast wont have the money to put in.
It adds little to major alliances. With Qatar now in Oneworld, all the major international airports are covered.
Best case scenario.....go down the Etihad route. Etihad through its investments and stakes in different airlines, Air Berlin, Alitalia, Jet Airways, etc, is creating an unofficial alliance of its own. Perhaps if PIA ever does come up for privatisation Etihad can take at 26% stake and PIA will become a feeder airline Westwards.

But after PIA joining, the Alliance may have to change it's name to, "ThirdWorld"DocDamage wrote:I think OneWorld

Re: If PIA joins an Alliance what will it be?
From what I know an airline is usually invited to join an alliance based on its track record, performance and reputation and sadly PIA leaves alot to be desired on those 3 categories. Qatar has joined OW, Saudia Skyteam and Air India is joining Star Alliance, so I see no place for PIA in the region. They missed the boat.
